A carícia recusada

Leio num ensaio do filósofo Roger Scruton esta passagem: «A caress may be either accepted or rejected: in either case, it is because it has been ‘read’ as conveying a message sent from you to me. I do not receive this message as an explicit act of meaning something, but as process of mutual discovery, a growing to awareness in you which is also a coming to awareness in me».
